Stone Island derived from the original Sportswear label trading under the name “Chester Perry”. “Chester Perry” was formed in 1974 and soon became known as C.P. Company. In 1982 designer Massimo Osti created the label Stone Island and invested heavily in material research, using techno fibres and eventually would be the next best thing to NASA in material research.
